Please read this liability disclaimer carefully before hiring a bike from the St Albans Cycle Hub to ride on the cycle tracks here at the Old Oak site. By proceeding with the bike hire, you acknowledge and agree to the terms and conditions outlined below:

 

1.    Assumption of Risk:

1.1. Cycling, including BMX and Dirt Jump riding, carries inherent risks, including but not limited to falls, collisions, and injury. 
1.2. You understand and accept that engaging in BMX and Dirt Jump riding involves certain risks and dangers, which may arise from the condition of the cycle tracks, your own actions, the actions of others, or unforeseen circumstances.

 

2.    Responsibility:

2.1. You are responsible for your own safety and the safety of others while riding the hired bike. 
2.2. You acknowledge that you have sufficient competence and experience to operate the bike safely. 
2.3. You will comply with all applicable traffic laws, regulations, and instructions provided by St Albans Cycle Hub.

3.    Release and Indemnification:

3.1. To the maximum extent permitted by law, you release and discharge St Albans Cycle Hub, its employees, agents, and representatives from any liability, claims, actions, or demands arising out of or in connection with the bike hire and use. 
3.2. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless St Albans Cycle Hub, its employees, agents, and representatives from any claims or damages arising from your use of the bike or your violation of any laws or regulations.

 

4.    Maintenance and Inspection:

4.1. St Albans Cycle Hub will provide you with a bike in a safe and roadworthy condition. 
4.2. You are responsible for inspecting the bike before riding it and ensuring that it is in proper working order. 
4.3. If you identify any defects or issues with the bike, you agree to notify St Albans Cycle Hub immediately.

 

5.    Personal Protective Equipment:

5.1. You understand and agree that it is your responsibility to wear appropriate safety gear, including a helmet, and any other protective equipment necessary for your safety. 
5.2. St Albans Cycle Hub strongly recommends the use of protective equipment and reserves the right to refuse bike hire if you fail to wear appropriate safety gear.

 

6.    Termination of Hire:

6.1. St Albans Cycle Hub reserves the right to terminate the bike hire if you fail to comply with the terms and conditions outlined in this liability disclaimer or engage in unsafe or negligent behaviour.

 

7.    Governing Law: 

7.1. This liability disclaimer shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England.

 

By hiring a bike from the St Albans Cycle Hub, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the terms and conditions outlined in this liability disclaimer when you either: i) submit your completed 'Liability Disclaimer for Hire of Bikes from St Albans Cycle Hub' form on this website or in person at the Cycle Hub OR ii) arrange to hire a bike from us via this website - notifying us of your agreement with this disclaimer as a condition of hire in the booking process.
